Softbox On A Boom Tutorial

Really simple technique with pretty impressive results:

SB800 in 24″ softbox on a boom – above the model M x1/2
SB800 in broken snoot* with stacked up red and pink gels – making splash on the wall M x1/8
Fired with SU800

Nikon D300 + 24-70 f2.8
1/250s f5
ISO 100

*broken snoot – snoot I made from black foamcore w/mylar inside – I call it “broken” because is squeezed and so out of shape, it doesn’t hold round shape anymore. But it gives interesting (and every time a little different) pattern.
