Old Hollywood Glam

April 3, 2011

Few days ago, a friend of mine invited me to be a part of his Old Hollywood Shoot. Our model was lovely Michele Love Santoro, and makeup and hair styling was provided by Amy Orona. I had really great time and here’s what I came up with:

btw. Kudos to Ernest for setting this shoot up!

As far as lighting setup goes – 3 Alien Bee strobes were used. Our main light was fitted with custom (designed and made by Ernest) focusable snoot, fill was provided from behind the camera position by large octabank, and hair light was coming from small, gridded stripbox. Hair light was adjusted several times during the shoot, but overall lighting diagram looked like this:

Well well well. this is a delight. An industrious photographer as commited to shooting great work as well as sharing the techniques. I found you by way f the Strobist tip on houising ones beauty dish. I was struggling for literally years with hauling the awkward thing around from shoot to shoot, broncolor dish with roscolux diffusiion. Anyway. I play frame dtums and I had a really nice case made by Glen Chronkite housing an unused Bodhran. The thing about the wreath case lit a bulb in my head. I had a great case in the closet for years and did not even know this. My point is in your sharing of ideas and tips has made my day! Probally my week, and this a really big week in case you don’t know.

I aoplogize for the mispellings, this bweb browser does not support easy text editing. I am not retarded. Nor politically correct. Anyway your work is awesone, yout attitude is awesome and if you are ever in palo Alto call me I’ll buy beer.
    THANK YOU
